AMD Desktop Processors Not Getting DDR4 and a Post Bulldozer Architecture till 2022 - Claims Italian Report
[Rumor] The Italian site bitsandchips.it has posted something quite radical today. Citing inside sources, the website claims that the FM2+ socket is sticking around till 2022,and we won't exist seeing DDR4 Back up on desktop till the same time. Information technology besides claimed that we will non be getting a postal service Bulldozer compages till 2022. Needless to say a compression of salt is a must here.
AMD FM3+ Socket, DDR4 Back up and Post-Bulldozer Architecture in 2022, Carrizo Notebook Only till then - Alleges Italian Report
Ironically, I posted my speculation on AMD's 12 Core truckload teaser a few hours agone and discussed multiple possibilities. While these ranged from 12 Compute Cores, to 12 Steamroller Cores to a New Architecture, if this report is right then that pretty much throws all of that out the window (excluding HSA). The report claims that AMD'south FM2+ socket is going to stick around till 2022. Since DDR4 is going to come up with the FM3+ socket, the Italian site says that we volition not be seeing DDR4 on any desktop products till 2022. The report seems pretty confident nearly these facts and cites them equally such. Summarizing:
- AMD'south FM3+ Socket in 2022.
- New Mail Bulldozer/SMT Architecture in 2022.
- No DDR4 Support in Desktop Processors till 2022.
It then goes further into speculation, clearly marking it so, and maxim that Carrizo may not make it in the desktop sector till 2022 and it might be released instead on the FP4 BGA Socket. Now we had leaks that previously stated that Carrizo APU will have DDR4 support, and we also had reliable information from CPU-World that Carrizo is going to come in a FP4 BGA Socket. Now Excavator is a revision of Bulldozer so we should be seeing that in this time frame of one.5 years. After which, the alleged shift from CMT to SMT is scheduled (and therefore a completely new architecture will arrive). Consider the fact that we accept only ever heard virtually the Carrizo APU for the notebook platform and this report starts to make some serious sense.
#AMD FM3+, DDR4, New x86 Arch and Carrizo Desktop APU in 2022? <whistles> 'xvi is shaping up to be an amazing year. http://t.co/EisLORC9xd
